Robert Mack, M.D. is the founder of Mack Eye Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois where he is a board certified Chicago Ophthalmologist and LASIK Surgeon serving patients from throughout the northwest suburbs including Schaumburg, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Carpentersville, Wheeling, Hanover, Bartlett, Addison, Long Grove, Lake Zurich, Elgin and Wheaton.Dr. Mack provides LASIK, Custom Wavefront LASIK and other types of specialized LASIK Surgery. Dr. Mack received his Medical Degree at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa. In addition Dr. Mack received advanced training and experience as a LASIK surgeon when he completed a Fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery at the Hunkeler Eye Center. Dr. Mack has served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush Medical College in Chicago and has been serving the medical and surgical eyecare needs of patients in the northwest Chicago suburbs area for over 15 years. Dr. Mack has been providing Laser Eye Surgery with the Excimer Laser for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism since 1995. Dr. Mack is an experienced LASIK surgeon and has been involved in LASIK clinical research, LASIK education for physicians as well as LASIK patient care.
Dr. Mack has been honored for his work and is the recipient of both the Arthur J. Maschke Award for Excellence in the Art and Science of Medicine and the Irwin H. Lepow Award for Excellence in Research. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Refractive Surgery and has taught more than 2,000 Laser Eye Surgeons various topics in excimer laser eye surgery and other topics in refractive surgery.
